McCarthy’s Insurance Group County Senior Football League Division 7A
John Mitchels B 3-11
An Ghaeltacht 2-16
The long trip back west to Gallarus for the John Mitchels B team on Sunday last was to no avail as the home side took away a two point victory in this Division 7A game.
A goal in the first half was the highlight of the game, but despite two second half goals from Stephen Bowler, Mitchels couldn’t make up the gap and fell to their first defeat.
John Mitchels Senior Ladies.
John Mitchels senior ladies first game of the season, against Dingle, was postponed last weekend as all Kerry LGFA fixtures were cancelled.
Kerry u20s
Congratulations to the Kerry u20s who had an excellent victory over Waterford in their first game of the Munster u20 Championship last Thursday in Waterford. In particular, well done to John Mitchels Gearóid White, who scored 1-9 on his u20 debut, including four two-pointers from play. Best of luck to Gearóid, David Sargeant and the Kerry u20s in their next game away to Cork next week.

U16 Central League Division 2
Our u16 team played a South Kerry combined team on Thursday in round 2 of the Central Region. South Kerry took control of the game in the opening half in which they led 4-8 to 2-5 at half time. Ronan Harrington and Liam Corkery were the Mitchels goal scorers and David Cullinane scored a great point following a 60-yard run. Shane Roche also chipped in with a well taken point just before the break.
South Kerry got off to the better start in the 2nd half and scored 1-3 without reply to put the game to bed. However, the Mitchels lads battled until the end with Ronan scoring a 2 pointer and Eddie Carmody and Denis Kerins getting on the scoreboard. Ryan Clifford and Rory Bowler put in very encouraging performances. South Kerry ran out deserving winners on the day.
Mitchels will go again next Thursday the 16th April V Churchill @ 7pm.
John Mitchels u14s
John Mitchels u-14s travelled to Kenmare last Tuesday to play a strong Kenmare side. It was a titanic battle from start to finish and we ended up sharing the spoils. We had excellent performances at midfield from Tommy Moynihan and Ryan Hannafin and our goal scorers were Conor Roche and Ruairi O' Callaghan. We managed to look at all our squad and all acquitted themselves well
We play Ballyduff away next Tuesday night and all support greatly appreciated

Minor Ladies
John Mitchels minor ladies travelled to Cordal on Tuesday last to place Scart-Cordal in the third round of the County Minor League. After two wins in the opening two games, hopes were high.
However, despite a strong opening quarter, which saw scores from Sadhbh Corkery and a goal from Amy Noonan, the Scart-Cordal side brought themselves back into the game, with strong running and good passing.
And despite a second goal from Amy Noonan, the home side ultimately proved too strong and took a five point victory.
