As the curtain came down on this yearβs Minor All-Ireland Championship yesterday, and the Kerry minors made the long journey home, John Mitchels GAA Club had the honour of hosting their homecoming at our clubhouse in Ballyseedy last night.
While the result didnβt go Kerryβs way, our young men stood tall against a superb Tyrone sideβand that alone is something we can all be immensely proud of.
Manager Wayne Quillinan and Captain GearΓ³id White delivered powerful speeches that captured the spirit of the night. They reminded us that this was a fantastic year for the Minorsβone filled with memories that will last far longer than any medal.
We are especially proud of our own three Mitchels ladsβSeΓ‘n, David, and GearΓ³idβwho represented both club and county with heart, courage, and distinction. Yesterday may not have ended in victory, but this is just the beginning of what promises to be a bright journey for each of you.
As Colm Keys rightly noted in the match programme, βMinor final defeat has often spurred some of the best players in modern times.β Many of the gameβs greats have walked this very pathβand gone on to incredible success. Thereβs every reason to believe our boys will follow suit.
A heartfelt thank you to all the club members, supporters, and parents who came out last night to welcome the lads home. Your presence, pride, and passion filled the hall and made it a night to remember.
Up the Kingdom. Up the Mitchels. ππ
